The third batch of Girl Empowerment Mission was inaugurated at NTPC Ramagundam on 17th May 2023.

Every year approximately 120 girls per batch from government schools in the vicinity of NTPC Ramagundam are selected for four weeks of residential programme wherein the girls are trained academically and also in co-curriculums including dance, drama, music, arts, crafts, self defence, public speaking, yoga etc.


Dr S Sangeeta Satyanarayana, I.A.S, Collector & Dist. Magistrate, Peddapalli was the Chief Guest for the Opening Ceremony and Shri Sunil Kumar, Executive Director (Ramagundam & Telangana) was the Guest of Honour.


Appreciating the efforts of NTPC on the occasion, Dr S Sangeeta Satyanarayana said, "This workshop by NTPC would polish the girls to emerge at real GEMS (precious stones) by helping their hone their skills and become a better version of themselves".


Adding to it, Shri Sunil Kumar extended his heartfelt welcome to the GEM-2023 participants and requested their parents to encourage them for all their future endeavours.


Further, the Executive Director assured that their daughters are in safe hands of NTPC and the organisation will support them unleash their hidden talents and rise high to become the pride of Telangana and the nation at large.


Speaking on the occasion, Smt Usha Kumar, President, Deepthi Mahila Samithi said, "NTPC aims at enlightening lives along with power generation and the Girl Empowerment Mission is one of the brightest examples that looks after the holistic growth of the participants to shape their future.


She encouraged the girls to dream big and ensured that NTPC would support them in bringing those dreams into reality.


Shri Bijoy Kumar Sikdar, Head of HR extended his gratitude to the participants and their parents for their unwavering faith in NTPC, the volunteers for their tireless work, the senior management of NTPC for their support and vision; and also the vendors for the timely delivery of work.


The event was also graced by Shri Prasenjit Pal, CGM (Project), Shri Atul Kamlakar Desai, GM (O&M), Shri Alok Chandra Thakur, GM (Maintenance), Shri Anil Kumar Vemula, GM (Renewal Energy), Shri T Mohan Reddy GM (Technical Services), Shri Tapas Saha, GM (Fuel Management), Shri Hare Ram Singh, GM (Commissioning), Shri Rabindra Patel, GM (Ash Dyke), Shri Itwari Ram Lahri, CMO, Members of Deepthi Mahila Samithi and office bearers of Union & Association.
